澳門旅遊大學旅遊會展及節目管理理學士學位課程(中文學制)師生一行到訪位於路氹城的美獅美高梅,走訪其不對外開放的後勤區域,相繼探訪劇院後台,員工核心區及工程部,深入了解度假村繁華背後的運營體系。 走訪中,師生們重點參觀了亞洲首個多元化動態劇院的幕後設施:數千個座位可通過自動化軌道在十餘分鐘內完成重新排列,工程團隊對設備數據與運行軌道的嚴格檢測,為演出完美呈現提供核心保障。在員工核心區,全自動化制服管理系統頗具亮點,透過感應卡與自動輸送帶技術,將數千名員工的制服清洗,發放流程壓縮至數十秒,而規劃合理的員工食堂與休息室,也體現了企業對人才的重視。 位於建築深處的工程部後勤區,佈滿錯綜複雜的喉管與大型機組,技術人員透過建築管理系統(BMS)24 小時實時監控電力,供水與空調運轉,成為度假村恆溫舒適,穩定供能的生命中樞。 此次走訪讓學生們深刻認識到,五星級度假村的優質體驗不僅源於前台的精緻呈現,更依賴後勤區域的精密管理,先進技術應用與高效團隊協作,有效連接課堂理論與業界實踐,拓寬了專業視野。

UTM Faculty and Students Visit MGM to Explore High-Efficiency Management and Tech Applications in Integrated Resorts

A group of undergraduate students undertaking the BSs in Tourism Event Management programme (Chinese medium) at UTM visited MGM Cotai. They visited the back of the house areas that not open to public, including theatre backstage, the staff zone and the engineering department, to gain in-depth insights into the internal operations and mechanism of the resort. During the tour, the participants focused on the backstage facilities of Asia’s first multi-functional dynamic theatre. Thousands of seats can be rearranged via automated tracks within ten minutes. Strict inspections on equipment parameters and operating tracks conducted by the engineering team serve as a solid guarantee for flawless performance. In the staff area, the fully automatic uniform management system stands out prominently. By adopting access card recognition and automatic conveyor belt technology, the washing and distribution procedures of staff uniforms for thousands of employees can be completed in seconds. Well-equipped staff canteens and resting facilities also fully demonstrate the enterprise’s great attention to its employees. Located in the inner part of the building, the engineering area is equipped with intricate pipelines and large-scale mechanical units. Professional technicians adopt the Building Management System (BMS) to conduct real-time monitoring on power supply, water supply and air conditioning systems, functioning as the core hub that maintains constant temperature, comfortable environment and stable energy supply throughout the resort. This field visit enables students to fully understand that the high-quality service experience of a five-star resort derives not only from sophisticated front-of-house services, but also from sophisticated back of the house management, advanced technological application and efficient team collaboration. The activity effectively integrates classroom theoretical knowledge with industrial practice, which broadens students’ horizons.
